Friday, November 19, 2010 Fraser Valley Bald Eagle FestivalFVBEF is Ready Set GO!Scopes- check, sites ready- check, speakers- check, salmon-check, EAGLES- CHECK & CHECK!Over 1500 bald eagles were counted by biologist David Hancock last Saturday on a jet boat tour with Fraser River Safari in the Chehalis Estuary. So come one, come all and explore one of the most amazing spaces in British Columbia. Be sure to dress for the weather as the festival goes rain, shine or snow. However if you need to warm up, we have many excellent indoor activities going on to compliment the outdoor ones.
Update: 2500 eagles counted on the flats today!! What a sight. While you are exploring the Fraser Valley make sure to watch for our latest rehabilitated eagle “Bella”. She was released today from Kilby Beach and by now we hope has enjoyed a delicious salmon feast courtesy of the Harrison River. Good luck Bella! Jo-Anne Chadwick, 2010 Festival Chair
